This Privacy Policy describes how Bun Technologies LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as MarketBun ("MarketBun", "we", "us"), collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the MarketBun app. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

    The short version: We collect only what we need to run the app. We don't sell your data or show you ads. You can delete your account and data at any time.
  

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Messages	Messages you send to other users through the in-app messaging feature

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

Device info: Device type, OS, unique device identifiers
Usage data: Screens viewed, features used, time spent, actions taken
Log data: IP address, access times, crash reports
Push token: A device token to send push notifications (if you grant permission)

1.3 From Third Parties

If you register via Apple or Google, we receive basic profile info (typically your name and email) as permitted by your settings with that provider.

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide the Service — create accounts, display listings, deliver messages, enable app features
Personalize your experience — show relevant local sales
Communicate with you — send account emails, push notifications you opt into, and service announcements
Safety and security — detect fraud, enforce our Terms, protect users
Improve the Service — analyze usage, fix bugs, develop new features
Legal compliance — respond to lawful requests and fulfill legal obligations

We do not use your information to serve third-party ads, and we do not sell your data.

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Other Users (By Design)

The following is visible to other users as part of the app's core functionality:

Your username, profile photo, bio, and city/region on your public profile
Your sale listings, including photos, description, and general address
Your username and photo in messaging conversations

You control what personal information you include in your profile and listings.

3.2 With Service Providers

Apple / Google	App Store distribution and push notifications

These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose beyond providing services to us.

3.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information to comply with applicable law, respond to legal process, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and safety of MarketBun, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

If MarketBun is involved in a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before that happens.

4. Data Retention

Account and profile data — retained until you delete your account
Sale listings — retained until you delete them or your account
Messages — retained until the conversation is deleted or your account is closed
Log and diagnostic data — typically retained for up to 90 days
After account deletion — data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where required by law

5. Security

We use reasonable safeguards including TLS/HTTPS encryption for data in transit, industry-standard password hashing, and restricted access controls. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@marketbun.com.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will terminate it and delete all associated data immediately. If you believe a minor has used the Service, please contact us at support@marketbun.com.

Right to Know

Request disclosure of the personal information we have collected about you and how it's used.

Right to Delete

Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.

Right to Correct

Request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Right to Opt-Out

We do not sell or share your data for advertising. No opt-out is needed, but you may contact us to confirm.

Non-Discrimination

We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@marketbun.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We will respond within 45 days.

8. Your Choices

Edit profile info — anytime through "Edit Profile" in the app
Delete your account — permanently, through "Delete Account" in the app
Push notifications — opt out through your device's system settings at any time
Location — you control what location info appears in your listings; we do not track your GPS or background location

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above. For material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
